Thai Food Festival

This skirt is one of my absolute favourite vintage buys. I'm so glad I bought it and had the guts to wear it that first time, because I just feel like a super star in it (so comfy but so stylish!). It's 100% wool, perfect for chilly Canberra winter spring days where you want to rug up but not look like a puff ball. I'm really glad I hung on to the earrings - my granny gave me a bag of her and her friend's old earrings when I was a teenager, and even though I didn't like them then, I hung on to them, and now wear them all the time.

A tale of many tights

Everyone who works with me knows this - I LOVE stockings. I love how they come in so many different patterns and change up an outfit really easily, and I love how many compliments I get for my unique collection. It brightens my day when I look down and see cute patterns and the compliments aren't bad either.

Retro beachwear

Maybe I'm wishing for it so badly that it's all in my head, but I swear I can feel it getting warmer around here. Sure, we still don't get above zero overnight, but we haven't had any -5 degree nights this week and I am taking that as evidence that we are over the worst. Someday soon, I'll finally be able to wear my lovely bathers again!

Brights by the beach

One weekend in February a friend came to visit me in Canberra and we went down to the coast. The weather was not the best, but the beautiful beach and warm water made up for it.

Skirt: Cotton On
Top: Urban Outfitters

*Note: This outfit may not have any vintage components but it is very bright and fun, so I've included it.

Apples and Penguins

Another outing with my bestie (you can tell by the quality of the photos). More fun with curls, vintage and bright lippy. You can't see the cherries on the cardie, but they definitely up the cuteness.

Cardie: vintage, $15, Fash & Treasure (http://www.fashntreasure.com.au/)
Blouse: vintage, $10, vintage store on Magill Rd that I'm pretty sure doesn't exist anymore.

Orange you glad to see me?

This outfit was worn to a high tea in the country town of Hall with three of my closest friends. I had just invested in a curler and was very excited to use it - along with some red lippie that I usually am way too lazy to use. It was fun and I spent all day with a massive smile on my face because it's just impossible to be unhappy while wearing so much orange (or in such great company).

An Outfit A Day

Two weeks ago my best friend came to visit me and I realised that I had been wearing a little too much black for my liking. Not that anyone could ever accuse me of dressing blandly as I always have some bright shade in my ensemble somewhere, but I had lost my drive to be daring with what I wore and had settled into a routine of colour and shape combinations.

So here is my effort to document some of my more colourful outfits to try and motivate myself to dress more the way I want to dress and not worry about how people perceive me. Because that is when I am happiest, and interestingly, that is when I get the most compliments.
